Chinese financial firm secures mobile workforce access

Mobile staff of a large financial firm in China are enjoying the convenience of working remotely through a security solution provided by Check Point Software Technologies.

Mobile workers of Zhejiang Zhongda Futures Brokerage, a brokerage firm in China, can access their corporate desktops anytime, anywhere and securely after the company deployed Check Point Abra, a secure virtual workspace.

Check Point Software said this mobile workplace capability still safeguards all company data on-the-go. This security assurance is needed since the China Securities Regulatory Commission requires Zhongda to remain compliant and adhere to strict guidelines for information security, privacy and remote access.

"Check Point provides a high level of security protection for our mobile office automation strategy," said the IT manager of Zhongda Futures Brokerage who wished to be known only as Wang.

Wang added that Zhongda has allowed its employees to access business critical applications and data remotely to increase their productivity. "This is crucial," Wang said, "as we operate in an information sensitive and highly competitive industry environment."

Remote access

With Check Point Abra, Zhongda's growing mobile workforce can access company e-mails, files and applications anywhere whether offline or online through integrated virtual private network (VPN) connectivity. Users can work offline from an encrypted USB drive or online using the Check Point Abra integrated VPN client.

"During our deployment, Check Point took into consideration our current and future security needs. Their solutions have exceptional scalability and have helped us simplify management by enabling us to manage network and endpoint policies from one console," added Wang.

Hangzhou-headquartered Zhongda has 800 employees across 16 different branch offices in China.
