In realising Australia’s innovation and productivity potential, ensuring our Science, Engineering, information Technology and Mathematics (STEM) capability into the future needs to be a priority.

This discussion will address not only how we attract more women into STEM roles but what organisations can do to support women once they’re in them, how to retain, champion and promote them.

You’ll hear from senior business leaders about what they’re doing to address gender diversity, followed by a panel discussion and an opportunity to participate in a Q&A session.

Our Moderator and MC, the fabulous Yvonne Adele, will host our esteemed speakers including;

Melissa Ries – Vice President and General Manager, APAC, Skillsoft– Melissa will share what companies can do to encourage women to take on leadership positions and the support they can provide, specifically through training and learning.

Ed Foley – COO SME Banking, Westpac – Having recently announced that 50 percent of its leadership positions at Westpac are now held by women, Ed will share what the bank has done to achieve this and its continuing work to address gender diversity.

Amy Foo – VP Finance & Operations, APAC, Zendesk – Amy will share Zendesk’s approach to gender diversity, including a 50/50 board of executives and appointing a Head of Diversity in 2017. She will highlight the work Zendesk has done to encourage more women to join the company and the policies put in place to help retain them.

Trent Innes – Managing Director, Xero – Trent will talk about the Diversity and Inclusion Action plan that Xero put in place in 2017 and highlight some of the successes and the work still to be done.

Valeria Ignatieva – Co-CEO of DCC Jobs – Valeria is passionate about how helpinging women pursue rewarding STEM careers and her DCC Jobs platform was created to enable women to easily find employers who will value and support them with paid parental leave, pay equity, flexible working and much more.
