The size of China enterprise mobile security software market will reach US $57.7 million in 2017, according to IDC's China Enterprise Mobile Security Software 2013-2017 Forecast and Analysis.
This market was estimated to be US $11.5 million in 2013, and will grow at a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 49.5%.
Businesses can expect increased complexity in the coming days due to several factors such as rapid development of mobile commerce leading to the growth of mobile security threats faced by the traditional network.
Enterprise mobile security software market will maintain a rapid growth in the future, and it is expected to surpass the 12% growth rate of the traditional information security market.
"China enterprise mobile security market is, in general, still at its early stage. As the popularity of mobile applications and increasing bring your own device (BYOD) users, there will be more demands for Mobile Device Management (MDM), Mobile Application Management (MAM), as well as Mobile Security Platform Management from enterprises," said Pei Wang, research manager in charge of IDC China's IT security market research.
Reaching construction peak in 2016
Mobile security will grow at a high-speed for the next two to three years, and will reach its construction peak in 2016. Products with sound Mobile Security and Vulnerability Management (MSVM) will maintain a high market share and growth rate.
Wang insists that the arrival of enterprise mobile applications is inevitable in IT as they boost production efficiency and management level in organizations.
However, businesses are concerned about bringing in business security risks by allowing mobile intelligent terminals to access enterprise business systems. Enterprises are also concerned about device management problems caused by BYOD, identity security in mobile office and policy compliance.
Wang suggests security vendors to ensure that mobile security solutions can be integrated with existing security architecture.
"Amidst enterprise mobile platform systems, the integration of MDM, MAM and mobile security management is inevitable."
